Frequently asked questions~

Here are some answers to any questions you might have before coming in. Please reach out for any other questions.

How often should I wax?

To get the most from waxing, an average frequency is 4 to 6 weeks between services. First appointment should be minimum 2 weeks after shaving. This is the same for women and men.

How long does a Brazilian wax last?

This is a hard one to answer, as there are several factors that go into how long it lasts, such as how long you have been waxing for or if it's the first time(s).

There are 5 series of hairs that need to be trapped in a schedule in order to get the cleanest between waxes, I personally tell my clients "the first 5 months are the hardest when starting out" but after it's a lot more noticeable depending on if you do 4, 5 or 6+ weeks.

Example: if you start at 4 week (our min) cycle between wax #5 and #6 you will go 3 weeks little to no hair with 1 week hair (which you come in at the end of)

Should I trim the hair before waxing?

In my salon, no please don't. If you trim the hair you might trim too short, then the wax can't grab the hair. I will inform you if I need to trim when we start the service.

Does a Brazilian wax include inner lips?

We consider a Brazilian when we go to the lips, but Yes the inner lips are included, if there is hair I will remove it. if i miss some PLEASE let me know!

The only hair that should be left is hairs that are too short.

What can I do after getting waxed?

Anything really. Shower, swim, hot tub, be intimate.

Just take care of the skin after. After water: moisturize, with proper ingredients. After intimacy clean the areas first then moisturize.

Should I tip my waxer?

Honestly, that is entirely up to you. My debit machine does not have a tip option because we do not like to hand a machine to a new client that has it, making it look like that is the expectation.

No, that is entirely your choice.

How much is a typical Brazilian wax?

From what I have seen the average here in Ottawa for a FULL Brazilian wax is anywhere from $50-$90+, BUT they also take 30-45+ minutes to complete.

Here at Bio By Kiss Aesthetics our price is set, for EVERYONE, at $28, takes less than 15min.

Is waxing a good idea for men?

Simple answer is YES.

Shaving hurts everyone. Women waxing but their men manscaping causes irritation to the partner too, by rubbing and chaffing, which then leads to ingrown hairs on both people. Waxing doesn't leave stubble, the hairs aren't prickly when they start to grow back, they come back softer and fewer.
